Fantastic! Delighted to make your acquaintance.

My name is Daniel Grainger. I'm an Australian farm boy who has been fortunate enough to live in eleven countries and travel plenty more.  

​

But how have I come to be a freelance copywriter for medical, cryptocurrency, SaaS, and other industries?

​

Well. Allow me to elaborate.

​

I wanted to be a marine biologist. At 10 I was writing white papers on sharks and whales. 

 

I went to uni and studied ecological sciences, was awarded my graduating year's outstanding dissertation award, and got to work. (The paper is published in Etymology, in case you fancy a read about dominance hierarchies in south American ant colonies). You can see samples of my more recent work here.   

 

I worked as an ecological consultant in the UK, then as a junior marine biologist in South-East Asia. I began to realise writing was what I enjoyed doing, and that's when I started freelancing. 

​

I have persisted at writing scientific papers and proposals for the past few years, while studying marketing, and doing freelance work for a content marketing agency.  

​

And now? I freelance full-time

and create long-form marketing

campaigns, websites and backlink

strategies for some of the coolest

companies all around the world. 

​

This lets me pursue my other passions;

surfing and freediving. 

​
